THE THERAPY OF LAUGHTER:

Students improve articulation, elocution, and speech.
Encourages language development.
Better reading and comprehension skills.

2. Communication:
Laughter encourages communication and helps kids relate better to others.
Using humor in times of conflict is a valuable communication tool.
Writing stand-up and performing improv encourages creativity and problem solving.
Honest interaction with peers.

3. Behavior/Attention Span:
After a child takes a comedy class, parents report fewer behavioral problems in school from their "class clowns".
Parents also report greater attention to school work from their children, including those with A.D.D.

4. Improved Self-Esteem:
Kids learn to laugh at themselves and become more accepting of who they are. As a result, teasing/bullying does not phase them
as much. They also become more aware and tolerant of differences in others.
Laughing feels good and making people laugh leads to feelings of validation and acceptance.
Learning appropriate vs. inappropriate humor (i.e.halting mean spirited humor) improves yours and others' self-esteem.
"I made it to the mic!"

“Humor and laughter can foster a positive and hopeful attitude. Kids are less likely to succumb to feelings
of depression and helplessness if they can laugh at what is troubling them. This class will encourage them
to express strong emotions such as anger, sadness and fear and show them how to harmlessly release it”
